Separation and divorce

What happens if you separate?

Children and young people have to cope with the separation of their parents and the feelings that come with it, as well as adapt to changes such as moving, step-siblings or a parent's new relationship. In addition, conflicts between parents or difficult contact with one parent can put a strain on children. Typical emotional reactions are anxiety, tearfulness, emotional instability, problems at school or social withdrawal.

What helps with separation?

Multimodal behavioral therapy is adapted to the individual problems, strengths and goals of the young people. It can be limited to the separation or include other concerns. Parents are also included and supported in talking better about the separation and finding common arrangements. Young people are supported in processing the separation, developing coping strategies and regaining their joy in life.
